Rose... Rose...
He only said her
name when she heard him in her dreams. In her nightmares it was “Rose
Tyler, I...”.
Every night Rose
sat by her window looking up at the gleaming stars.
So far away.
It wasn't the worst
situation, but it felt like it. Sure, she has her mum, her dad, and a
brother on the way, not to mention Mickey.
It just wasn't
enough. Never enough. Even with her family, she felt alone in the
mansion she lived in.
She worked for
Torchwood now, instead of that shop she used to work at, the one
where she met the Doctor.
Her Doctor.
The tears still
come and go, now just when she remembers his voice, his smile, his
great head of hair, really, really great hair...
She smiled at the
thought, even if there were tears in her eyes.
Rose was walking
down Totters Lane when she looked to her left into a junkyard. There
was a flash of light and there were no longer Zeppelins in the sky.
There it stood. That magnificent blue box that took her everywhere.
There it stood. That magnificent blue box that took her everywhere.
Was the Doctor
inside?
She came up to the
tall blue narrow doors when one of them opened revealing a glow
inside.
“Doctor?” She
called out.
“Rose.” A voice replied. Not her Doctor's voice though.
She looked behind
her where the voice came from.
“Sorry, do I know
you?” Rose asked the man with a very prominent chin and floppy
hair with a tweed jacket and bow tie.
“You did once.
Not like this. Another me, past me. Me.” He responded, walking
slowly towards her.
“Doctor?” She
whispered, afraid if she spoke any higher he would break like glass.
“Your doctor.”
He answered.
With this she
smiled and hugged him tightly not ever wanting to let go.
“You may remember
me as a traveler of sorts. Perhaps, you'd like to join me? Anywhere
in the universe, anywhere in time, all at your finger tips.” He
said with a grin appearing in the corner of his lips and took her
hand.
“You've never had
to ask.” Rose answered, still smiling.
“Alright then
Rose Tyler! All aboard the TARDIS!” He exclaimed like a child at
Christmas.
As if she had read
his mind she said, “How about a Christmas? Do any other planets
have Christmas?”
“We could go to
New New New New New New New New New New New New New New New York.”
The Doctor joked, not missing a “new”.
“Sounds fine by
me!” Rose said doing her signature tongue through teeth smile.
“Off we go then
my beautiful Rose!” He rushed through the doors of the TARDIS when
Rose tilted her head to the side, but still smiling.
“Redecorated have
you?” She said teasingly.
“Oh you know, new
new new Doctor, new new TARDIS.” He joked.
She came by his
side and said, “You're different, but I like you. You still have
the same essence. Same sense.”
“Sense?” He
asked. “Sense of what?”
“Sense of
adventure, sense of.. you. Do I smell bananas?” She answered then
asked.
“Hm....”
Avoiding the question, he started playing with switches and triggers.
“Set for
Christmas! GERONIMO!”
Then they were off.
Jackie Tyler sat at
her bedroom window and thought about her Rose.
I guess she found her Doctor.
Jackie
knew even if she didn't ever see her daughter again, she was happy.
She just knew she was with him. Her and her Doctor. Oh what a tale to
be told.
- Happy birthday
Gina – love you lots!!!
Very, very good.
